How to cancel an OnlyFans subscription, and what about refunds
How to turn off auto-renew on OnlyFans, what happens to your access after cancelling, whether refunds are possible, and why chargebacks are a risky route.

OnlyFans subscriptions renew automatically by default. Many fans only notice when the second payment arrives. Here is how to stay in control of renewals, what happens when you cancel, and what to do if you were charged by mistake.
How to cancel a subscription
- Open the creator’s profile while logged in.
- Find the subscription button, which shows that you are subscribed.
- Switch off auto-renew (it may be labelled "Auto-renew" or "Turn off renewal").
- Confirm. The profile should now show the date your access ends.
You can also see all your subscriptions in one list in your account menu, which is handy if you follow many pages.
A good habit: switch auto-renew off right after subscribing for the first time. You keep the full month and decide later whether to renew.
What happens after cancelling
| Item | After cancelling |
|---|---|
| The creator’s wall | Available until the end of the paid period, then locked again |
| Content you unlocked separately | Usually stays available in your messages or purchases |
| Messages | The creator may still message you, often with a renewal offer |
| Bundles (3, 6 or 12 months) | Run to the end; no partial refund for unused months |
| Free pages you follow | Nothing to cancel; just unfollow |
Free pages have no renewal at all. In this directory they make up a large share of the listing:
Refunds
OnlyFans’ terms generally treat payments as final, which means there are usually no refunds for a subscription you did not enjoy or content you unlocked and did not like. Exceptions tend to be technical: a duplicate charge, a payment you did not make, or content that never arrived. In those cases:
- Collect the details: date, amount and the creator’s name.
- Contact OnlyFans support through the help section of your account.
- If a payment was not made by you, change your password and turn on two-step verification straight away.
Why a chargeback is a last resort
Asking your bank to reverse a payment (a chargeback) is possible, but platforms often restrict or close accounts that file them, and you may lose access to everything you bought. Keep it for genuine fraud, after support has not helped. Exact rules depend on your bank and country.
Never pay a third party who promises to "get your OnlyFans money back". That is a well-known scam.
Avoiding surprise charges
- Check your subscriptions list once a month.
- Remember that free trials and promotions renew at the full price unless you switch auto-renew off.
- Set a monthly limit for extras such as messages and tips. Our price guide shows typical totals.
